As from 2010, Taiwan will allocate spectrum to accommodate two mobile TV services. Over the last few years, the country has embarked on several mobile TV trials.
While the mobile TV licences will be technology-agnostic, it is likely that any bids will be based both on DVB-H (digital video broadcasting – handheld) and MediaFLO standards.
Screen Africa readers might be aware that DStv Mobile has been running a mobile TV trail for some years on DVB-H.
