At the 5th Zurich Film Festival which runs until 4 October, Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman (Million Dollar Baby, The Shawshank Redemption) and controversial filmmaker Roman Polanski , who won a directing Oscar for The Pianist, will receive the Golden Icon Award and the Golden Eye for Lifetime Achievement respectively.
Oliver Stone and Costa-Gavras are the two previous recipients of the Golden Eye.
The festival will also feature a retrospective of Polanski’s work.
US actor Peter Fonda will also be in Zurich to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Dennis Hopper’s legendary film Easy Rider.
