The home of the Khuze family from e.tv’s popular daily soapie Rhythm City will be recreated on the broadcaster’s stand at the Soweto Festival, which takes place between 24 and 27 September in Soweto, Johannesburg.

Visitors to e.tv’s stand will be allowed maximum opportunities for interaction with key Rhythm City cast members. Not only will they get to see the Khuze family home, they can meet and act with some of their favourite characters, win great prizes and get tips from the country’s top actors.

Says e.tv marketing officer Charles Molusi: “e.tv is once again very proud to be associated with the Soweto Festival.  Vsitors to the Festival are also e.tv viewers and therefore the association of our brand with this event aligns itself perfectly with our greater marketing strategy.’

Over the past two years, Rhythm City has played a big role in celebrating Soweto’s cultural heritage, depicting the breath of South African youth’s experience from Soweto to the suburbs. The partnership with Soweto’s top festival proves that the soapie plays an integral part in depicting the wealth of experiences of the economically optimistic township.

The five-day festival, organised by Adele Lucas Public Relations and hosted by the City of Johannesburg, is the biggest annual event to take place in Soweto. The festival aims to contribute to the long –term greater development of Soweto’s economy and community by showcasing the intellect, ambition, creativity and entrepreneurial flair found in the township.
