With the prospect of a nationwide strike by SABC radio and TV staffers looming next week, the Media Workers Association of SA (Mwasa) announced on 6 July that it was prepared to convince its members to accept the SABC’s tentative 10% pay rise offer. SABC staff are wanting a 12.2% increase.
Business Day reports that spokesperson for the public broadcaster Kaizer Kganyago said that the 10% increase has still to be approved by the state. (The SABC’s original offer was 8.5%.)
