As at 17 May, the new South African road trip comedy, White Wedding, has generated an impressive R2,938,590 at the local box office. It made the number four spot on the Combined Top 10 for the week 8 to 14 May and the number five spot in the weekend of 15 to 17 May.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine, directed by South African Oscar winner Gavin Hood, was the top earner for the above week and has now made R7.9m in total.
The much-hyped sequel to The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, which opened on 15 May, took top honours for that weekend with R2.3m, pushing X-Men Origins: Wolverine into third spot, after the rom-com Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. (Figures supplied by SAFACT)
