In a first time ever world premiere, the 62nd Festival de Cannes begins its Opening Ceremony today with a 3-D digital feature film – the Pixar/Disney’s latest animated comedy adventure, Up

The Doremi DCP-2000 has been selected as the player for this high profile screening in the Grand Theatre Lumiere. The presentation at the opening of the festival further validates that the 3-D movement is in full swing and revolutionising the 21st century motion picture industry. With Hollywood 3-D content production more than doubling in one year, it confirms 3-D is no longer a fad, but here to stay.

“We are honoured to be chosen as the cinema player at the Cannes Film Festival,’ says Patrick Zucchetta, Managing Director of Doremi. “This will be a historical moment with a 3-D title opening such an emblematic Festival and we are extremely proud to be part of this screening.’

This announcement comes as Doremi DCP-2000 digital cinema players are now installed in over 1300 screens across Europe.
