As a sign of the economic times and the possible threat of an actors’s strike, as well as the runaway production trend, Los Angeles has seen its weakest ever quarter in off-lot feature production.
FilmL.A noted that most big budget feature films are no longer shot in Los Angeles and even indie filmmakers are shooting fewer days in Tinseltown.
Reassuringly, off-lot TV activity in the film capital is still going strong. However, commercial production has slid 34% in the first quarter, as a result of the recession. (Source: Variety)
