The Anne Hathaway/ Kate Hudson comedy Bride Wars was the top earner at the South African box office for the week 30 January to 5 February. It has earned R3.9m in its two weeks of release.
Bedtime Stories, Adam Sandler’s comedy fantasy was in second spot for the week in question, earning R1.4m. Tom Cruise’s plot-to-assassinate-Hitler drama, Valkyrie opened in third spot, with R1.3m. Hollywood blockbusters Transporter 3 and Yes Man filled the fourth and fifth spots.
The South African film Vaatjie Sien Sy Gat has made R2,057048 to date and made it to the number eight spot of Ster-Kinekor’s Top 8 for that week. (Figures supplied by SAFACT)
Meanwhile, the record breaking South African film, Mr Bones 2, was in seventh spot in the Combined Top 10. It has made R34.1m to date.
