According to the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), it is not holding informal talks with the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) regarding the stalemate in contract negotiations, as implied by SAG leaders.
However, an AMPTP representative said the group is open to considering new options on how to reach a settlement, although it is unlikely to agree to give SAG a better deal than negotiated with the Writers Guild of America, the Directors Guild of America and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
SAG’s contract expired on 30 June and the Hollywood production sector has been in a partial state of limbo since then, despite SAG giving waivers to a number of independent productions.
