Guests at the MultiChoice launch of DStv’s new television channel , M-Net HD, were stunned by a bank of HD widescreen sets which revealed the fantastic clarity of high definition (HD) programming. The launch in futuristic-style was held at Atlas Studios, Millpark, on Thursday evening, 24 July.

The M-Net HD channel will be launched in time for the Beijing Olympics which will offer HD coverage for viewers fortunate enough to have HD decoders and HD television sets. From 24 August, HD subscribers will be able to view top HD programming acquired or produced by M-Net.

It will also screen top wildlife programming like Earth Touch (Tuesdays at 19:30) and popular series CSI Miami, CSI New York Season 4 and new teen drama series Gossip Girl.

Among the movie titles that will be on the channel soon are Die Hard 4, Zodiac, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Spiderman, Oceans Thirteen and, Shrek the Third.
