The Association for Communication and Advertising (ACA) is pleased to announce that the 2008 Advertising Performance Excellence Awards (APEX) will take place at the Emperor’s Palace Convention Centre on 10 April 2008. This year, APEX is proudly brought to you by sponsors: SABC, SAB, IDC, Emperor’s Palace, Sappi, Clover, Alight Productions and Mushroom Productions.
The awards ceremony is a gala event that brings together captains of the marketing and advertising industries and media, as well as key Government representatives. The evening provides a platform for marketers to network with relevant stakeholders and in particular, to endorse the importance of effective advertising in an era where accountability and return on investment is of key importance.
Since its inception in 1995, the APEX awards has recognised and celebrated the achievements of advertising performance excellence in an industry that is constantly refining and redefining creativity. The adjudication process for APEX is a stringent one as the entrants have to prove that their submissions have achieved advertising performance excellence by contributing a measurable return to their client’s bottom line. They have to be able to demonstrate both strategic and creative effectiveness.
APEX entries are judged in one of the following three categories:
- LAUNCH – for brands or services that are new, or have no significant history of advertising.
- CHANGE – for new campaigns from previously advertised brands, which resulted in significant short-term effects on sales and/or behaviour.
- SUSTAIN – for advertising campaigns that benefited a business by maintaining or strengthening a brand over a long period.
