Variety reports that Warner Bros is expecting big things box office wise from “10,000 BC’, Roland Emmerich’s new effects driven movie. “10,000 BC’ was shot in the Cape with South African company Moonlighting Filmmakers providing facilitation services.
The German director’s previous blockbusters include “Independence Day’ and “the Day After Tomorrow’.
Warner Bros believes the film will easily make an impact in the US, where it goes on a 3,410 cinema release.
“10 000 BC’ follows the adventures of a hunter searching for his kidnapped wife and discovering a lost civilisation in the process. There are no big names in the cast, the leads being Steven Strait, Camilla Belle, Cliff Curtis and Joel Virgel.
