Public broadcaster SABC has renewed its media partnership with Design Indaba, South Africa’s premier showcase of local design in all sectors, which runs from 23 to 29 February at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. The broadcaster has also announced its sole sponsorship of the Fashion Shows and is a founder sponsor of the Creative Alliance Project.

As South Africa’s national public broadcaster, more than 24 million South Africans tune into the SABC’s network of 18 radio stations and more than 19 million people tune into our three free-to-air television channels.

SABC sponsors a “by invitation only’ master class on 28 February headed by Jakob Trollback a self-taught designer from Sweden, who leads the innovative and highly successful Trollback + Company. Under his leadership, the company has created award-winning designs, and is an acknowledged industry leader in branding and motion graphic design. Now in its ninth year, Trollback + Company has expanded its creative output to film titles, TV-commercials, environmental design, music videos and short films.
In addition, SABC once more sponsors The Loerie Awards Travelling Exhibition – a local and international road show showcasing award winning communication work. The launch of the Loerie Awards Annual publication and Travelling Exhibition takes place on 27 February at the Design Indaba Conference.
SABC will support Design Indaba through its various platforms such as SABC1 (“Street Journal’) who will be profiling some of the designers, SABC3 (“3 Talk’), SABC2 (“Weekend Live’) as well as SAFM.
