The Writing Studio’s 6-week evening course for screenwriters takes place on Tuesday evenings from 18:00 until 21:00 and starts on October 30 at the SABC in Seapoint, Cape Town.
Hosted by the SABC, the Evening Course for Screenwriters examines the process of writing a screenplay, and explores the world of contemporary films and filmmaking.
The workshop is ideal for anyone with an idea for a story.
The workshop looks at how to explore your idea, turn it into a marketable concept, and develop it into a story that will evolve into a powerful South African film. It also looks at how to develop characters, structure, writing dialogue, and how to sell yourself as a writer.
The workshop is also ideal for those interested in writing for television or theatre, as well as novelists who want to adapt their work for a visual medium.
The cost is R900, with a discounted rate of R700 for students and scholars. Bursaries are available on discretion for disadvantaged writers.
The Evening Course for Screenwriters takes place on Tuesday evenings from 18:00 until 21:00 on October 30/ November 6, 14, 20, 27, and December 4, and will be the final workshop for 2007. The beginner’s course will be followed by an Advanced Workshop for Screenwriters in February 2008.
