Call for “Heartlines’ PSAs


Curious Pictures, producers of award-winning television including “Hard Copy’, “Heartlines’, “The Lab’ and “L’atitude’ is inviting copywriters/creative directors to submit sample scripts and detailed treatments for 30-, 45- or 60-second television spots dedicated to get South Africa thinking, talking and living out positive values.

This series of PSAs (Public Service Announcements) was commissioned by The Mass Media Project, a non-profit organisation. The PSAs, to be developed and produced by Curious, are destined for broadcast on one of the country’s biggest TV channels in 2008.

Once submissions are in, a panel made up of creatives and project managers from Curious and The MMP will select writers to join its “Heartlines’ 2007 PSA team. Writers of selected scripts / concepts will receive payment for the script/concept, meetings and any other additional work undertaken.

Any number of PSA ideas can be submitted, based on the theme below, in treatment and script form.

Entrants will need to be available during September and October and for script development, meetings, client presentations etc. Alternative plans will be make for all those who are not Gauteng-based.

Please submit contact details, treatment and script by no later than 12h00, Thursday 13 September 2007. Entrants will be given feedback within three weeks of the closing date.
