In a celebration of natural history, eco-tourism and cultural filmmaking, the second Durban Wild Talk Africa Film Festival and Conference (27 – 30 August) announced the winners of the ROSCAR Celebratory Awards at a gala event held at the ICC Durban on Wednesday 29 August.
The winners are:
ROSCAR Award for best Newcomer – Daniel and our Cats by Julika Kennaway
ROSCAR Award for best eco-tourism, travel and/or culture production – Africa: Leopards of Zanzibar by Tigress Productions
ROSCAR Award for Best environmental and conservation/campaign production – Return to the Wild by Nature Conservation Films WW
ROSCAR Award for the best children’s wildlife production – Wild Secrets: The Giant Salamander by NHK.
ROSCAR Award for best wildlife production with a limited budget – Cherubs of the Mist by Bedi Films
ROSCAR Award for best production using innovative technology – Equator: Rivers of the Sun
ROSCAR Award for best editing – Super Mole by Bonne Pinoche Productions
ROSCAR Award for best cinematography – The Queen of Trees by Mark Deeble and Victoria Stone
