MultiChoice recently launched a trial website offering video content from selected local DStv channels, which can be streamed or downloaded to a PC.
Over a two month period, employees within the group companies participated in the first phase of the trial to test the technical capabilities of the website. Local content that trialists found popular included sport highlights clips, local soapies as well as Carte Blanche.
The second phase of the trial was launched on 1 August 2007 and focuses on determining the user friendliness and content offering of the Broadband site. Selected DStv premium customers were invited to participate in the second phase of the trial. MultiChoice is also negotiating with the various studios to broaden the variety of the content offered on the site.
The DStv Broadband trial further contributes to offering customers content on a variety of platforms, at a time that is convenient to them.
Says Richard Fyffe, MultiChoice General Manager, New Media “DStv Broadband is another platform for us to deliver content. The trials signify our commitment to providing a service that will complement our customers’ lifestyles.’
