The 5th North West Film Festival will take place from 14 to 23 September 2007 across the North West Province.
As part of its training, development and empowerment programme, the Festival will host a four-week intensive filmmaking
workshop between 30th July and 26th August 2007 in Mafikeng, North West
Province.
The Festival is looking for four young aspirant filmmakers from across the North West Province who would like to further/start their careers in filmmaking and are willing to invest their creative energy into the development and growth of
the North West film industry. The workshop will offer training in directing, producing, camera work and editing. A head trainer and expert filmmakers will mentor, train and share their filmmaking experience with the workshop
participants. Participants will get the opportunity to form relationships with and gain invaluable experience from the expert facilitators.
This is an opportunity for all youth (ages 18 – 35) residing in the North West Province. Participants must be available for the whole period of 30 July to 23 September 2007.
Interested individuals should submit a two-page motivational letter stating why they should be selected for the workshop, a one to two page proposal of a Proudly North West short film/documentary as well as a two page curriculum vitae.
Completed films from the workshop will be launched during the 5th NWFF in September 2007.
