The organisers of Encounters, the annual South African International Documentary Festival, are calling for entries from local and international filmmakers for the 9th edition of the Festival, which runs in Johannesburg from 13 July to 22 July and in Cape Town from 20 July to 5 August.
Encounters will show a selection of documentary films from around the world, with a particular focus on South African work. The festival will screen South African Premieres only.
Filmmakers must guarantee, should their film / video be selected, that permission from the rights holder are secured for a minimum of four screenings at this Festival.
The deadline for submissions is Friday 3 May 2007. The entry form can be obtained from www.encounters.co.za and must be submitted with the VHS/DVD PAL screener.
