Survivor SA tops M-Net reality ratings

The eagerly-anticipated first episode of Survivor South Africa, broadcast on 3 September, was the most-watched episode of a reality show ever broadcast on pay-TV channel M-Net. This includes the finals of previous hits like Idols and Big Brother.


Episode 1 drew over 1.2 million viewers and provided all the action, twists and drama associated with one of the world’s most popular reality television brands.


An audience share of 41% was achieved amongst a€˜Pay-TV Adults’ and 35% amongst a€˜High Income Adults’.


M-Net’s Carl Fischer promises that the show will only get better. “We’re extremely happy with the quality and content of the first episode, and are pleased that so many viewers tuned in to see our first-ever group of South African Survivors,” he says. “Viewers can expect unbelievable drama, action and surprising twists which are set to make Survivor South Africa a Sunday night must-see. Don’t forget that the pay-off line for Survivor South Africa is a€˜Trust No One’!”


Episode 2 of Survivor South Africa goes out on M-Net at 18h00, with repeats on M-Net Series on Fridays at 22h00.
