Well-known South African actor Fumani Shilubana returns to local screens in one of e.tv’s eKasi stories, Over my dead body. This is the second time Shilubana has starred in an eKasi drama.

He is best known for his role as Detective Nataniel in the SABC2 drama series Hillside and for his role as Dr Mokhethi on the SABC1 soapie Generations.

Shilubana also appeared in Death of a Queen (a mini-series that was part of SABC1’s Shakespeare in Mzansi strand), Soul City (SABC1) and Muvhango (SABC2). He has appeared in television commercials for Sun International, Hollard Insurance and Hyundai.

In Over my dead body, Shilubana stars as Pfukani, a law abiding, proud, hardworking and dedicated family man who works at a security firm as part of the armed response team. His journey begins when he gets fired from work after failing to back up his partner in time during a house breaking incident and subsequently loses his job. His wife, Thembi, urges him to move into his mother-in-law’s house. While nursing his bruised ego, his pride is put to the test even further when his mother-in-law begins to undermine and question his worth as a man. When it becomes clear that things will never go back to what they used be, he resorts to the most basic form of regaining his pride.

Over my dead body will be broadcast on Monday, 24 October at 9pm on e.tv.
