Cine Photo Tools brings RED Digital Cinema’s most advanced camera yet, the RED
Weapon, to South Africans as part of their dedicated Digital Cinema Lab.
Combining the best aspects of the Scarlet and Epic, the Weapon’s 19 megapixel RED
Dragon sensor can capture 6K motion and stills at up to 100 frames per second. The
sensor will be upgradable to 8K. The Weapon boasts an arsenal of improved features like automatic black shade calibrations, better low light sensor
performance, an intelligent OLPF system, super-fast data transfer rates up to 300
MB/s, in-camera 1D and 3D-LUT outputs, and the freedom to simultaneously record
in REDCODE® RAW and Apple ProRes file formats.
The RED Weapon is already being used on major sets across the globe, such as the
Grammy Award winning Taylor Swift music video, ‘Bad Blood’. It was
also recently announced that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 will be the
first movie to be shot on the Weapon 8K version.
