The filming set-up for a car scene is notoriously challenging. Aside from ensuring the safety of the actors and crew, the equipment needs to be strapped and clamped down firmly to a vehicle so that it doesn’t get damaged; and respectively so that the car itself isn’t scratched or dented in any way. Lighting a car scene is also a daunting task with natural lighting, reflections and limited space to take into consideration. In this video tutorial, Polish filmmaker Tom Antos shares some advice based on a car scene which features in his film The Big Wild North.
