Children and youths aged 11 to 16 in Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda
are invited to apply to participate in a filmmaking workshop held at Goethe-Institut
in Nairobi, from 7 to 12 December 2014. The workshop will examine how camera
techniques, lighting, sound and editing, support other elements of filmmaking to
produce high quality content.
Three participants from each region will be selected to take part in the programme,
which is an initiative of Lola Kenya Screen – an audiovisual media festival, skill-
development programme and marketing platform for children and youth, in
collaboration with East African Film Network (EAFN), East African Community (EAC)
and Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
Applications
• A short cover letter describing who you are, what film projects you have been
involved in, and how you think the workshop could be helpful to you.
• A 1000-word essay on the ideas you have for East Africa integration.
• A letter from your parent or guardian permitting you to participate in the
workshop.
Applications must be addressed to the respective East African Film Network’s
Country Representative and a copy sent to eastafricanfilmnetwork@gmail.com and
director@lolakenyascreen.org, by 17 November, 2014.
