Exterity, a company which delivers Internet Protocol television (IPTV) solutions
to some of the world’s leading brands, has opened a new office in Johannesburg
as part of its initiative to serve sub-Saharan Africa with secure live, on-demand
and recorded video IP distribution technologies.
Colin Farquhar, CEO of Exterity said the new office would enable the company to
solidify its commitment to provide IPTV in emerging markets, “Demand for IPTV in
Sub-Saharan Africa continues to rise and we must be proactive in the region to
meet this demand.’
The new office, which is equipped with a demo facility that allows system
integrators and pro-AV professionals to experience Exterity’s range of products,
will allow the company to give customers first-class support through its regional
partnerships. These include collaborations with Global Access, Hambisana,
Panavision, Prosonic Angola and Space Stream, which is part of SpaceTV.
As well as providing technically adept content ingest, encode and distribution
products, Exterity enables the secure transmission of content over IP to be fully
secure from source to end point by providing support for content encryption and
HDCPv2.
