On 13 and 14 June Lions Health, a new festival and awards focused on healthcare communications, launches in Cannes, France. The event serves as an industry networking hub and aims to set new creative benchmarks in the sector.
Seminars
Delegates will be exposed to industry insights and offered fresh inspiration at the 18 seminars which run throughout the festival. The content programme features global thought leaders, marketers and scientists from organisations such as Novartis, Unilever, Bristol Myers Squibb, TEDMED, Interbrand Health and McCann Health.
John McCarthy, Vice President, Global Commercial Excellence, AstraZeneca; Ewen Sturgeon, Chief Executive, International, DigitasLBi; HE Toyin Saraki, Former First Lady, Kwara State Nigeria and Founder, Wellbeing Foundation; Kathy Calvin, President, CEO, United Nations Foundation; Dr Ron Cohen, Founder and CEO, Acorda Therapeutics as well as cancer survivors Diem Brown, Founder of MedGift.com and Renee Nicholas, Director of Corporate Relations for the LIVESTRONG Foundation, will join global public relations firm Weber Shandwick on stage to contribute to Friday’s programme.
Saturday will also offer delegates a number of valuable sessions delivered by industry professionals such as Dr Rita Charon, Professor of Clinical Medicine and Director of the Program in Narrative Medicine at Columbia University, Jason Silva, Futurist; Mike Cooper, CEO, PHD Worldwide; Jacques Seguela, Founder, Havas; and prolific television director David Nutter.
Awards
On Saturday 14 June, the Lions Health Awards will honour international ground-breaking projects which push the boundaries with creative healthcare marketing. Entries in the Pharma category as well as the Health and Wellness category will be judged by 25 industry professionals. Following the awards, delegates, jurors and speakers will be able to network and celebrate at the Lions Health Gala.
Networking
Attending delegates from 47 countries will be provided with ample networking opportunities at a number of festival events including a FleishmanHillard briefing breakfast on Friday 13 June, networking drinks, in partnership with Chandler Chicco Companies, GSW and Palio+Ignite, at the end of Friday’s sessions and pre-award drinks, sponsored by WebMD, before the ceremony on Saturday.
