Globecast, a content management and delivery company, has acquired African channels Benie TV and Ouest TV and will distribute the recently launched networks to new audiences in West Africa.
The channels are now part of the French subscription satellite, cable, IPTV and DTT service provider Canalsat’s catalogue, which is available on the SES-4 platform and covers over 30 countries in West and Central Africa.
Lionel Antoine, Sales Manager for Globecast Africa said that Ouest TV, a regional news channel, and Benie TV, a Christian channel, would benefit greatly from the move.
“Viewers in French-speaking African countries are hungry for news programming and specialised content, so joining SES-4 platform is a tremendous opportunity for Benie TV and Ouest TV. The diversity which Canalsat offers and our leadership position in the African market, enable us to provide the service levels these channels need to achieve a maximum visibility with their target audiences.’
