Egg Films came out on top as the most awarded production company at the 35th annual Loeries, held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on 21 and 22 September.
After receiving 18 nominations, Egg Films took home a gold, three silvers, five crafts and a bronze.
The company’s music video Fatty Boom Boom, co-directed by Terence Neale and Ninja for South African group Die Antwoord, won a gold in TV and cinema commercials with Kezia Eales winning a craft certificate for production design.
The Mercedes Benz Attention Assist Campaign directed by Bruno Bossi won a silver for TV and cinema commercials as well as an integrated campaign silver.
Silver and craft certificates were awarded to director Kim Geldenhuys for the Standard Bank Sh-Boom commercial. The production also earned BlackGinger a craft certificate for VFX.
For his work on the bronze-awarded Chicken Licken Orphanage commercial Paul Gilpin received a craft award in cinematography while Clayton Swartz received a craft award for the production design of the same ad.
