From Wednesday 14 August to Sunday 18 August, the Grahamstown Film Festival Highlights screen at the Open Window School of Visual Communication in Irene, Gauteng.
Trevor Steele Taylor, curator of The Grahamstown National Arts Film Festival, presents the film workshop which is open to third-year and honours’ students and staff.
The Excluded Cinema focuses on the films of Peter Whitehead (Wholly Communion, The Falconer), Alain Robbe-Grillet (Eden and After, Slow Shudders of Pleasure) and Maartje Seyferth and Victor Nieuwenhuijs (Crepuscule).
Other screenings include Underground, directed by Robert Connolly with Alex Williams, Rachel Griffiths and Anthony LaPaglia; All Divided Selves directed by Luke Fowler with RD Laing and David Cooper; Propaganda from North Korea; The War Around Us directed by Abdallah Omeish with journalists Sherine Tadros and Ayman Moheldin; and Bail Out: The Age of Greed (aka Assault on Wall Street) directed by Uwe Boll and starring Dominic Purcell, Edward Furlong and Eric Roberts.
