The Durban International Film Festival (DIFF), South Africa’s largest and longest-
running film festival now in its 34th year, announces its nomination in the Most
Outstanding Film Festival in Africa category of the 2013 African Film Development
Awards.
Established in Tanzania in May 2012, the African Film Development Awards recognise
and celebrate excellent individuals and organisations that have become notable in
their contribution towards the growth and development of African Cinema.
Nominees include filmmakers, heads of government, corporate organisations, film
promoters, distributors, media and film journalists from more than 30 African
countries.
The awards ceremony takes place in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania on Saturday 29 June
2013.
Under the leadership of newly appointed film manager Peter Machen, the DIFF
continues to flourish and remains committed to bringing the very best of local and
international cinema.
With this year’s festival programme currently nearing completion, audiences can once
again expect an exciting range of features, documentaries, short films and surf films,
guaranteed to satisfy all movie lovers.
