At last week’s NAB show in Las Vegas, VENICE, the Media Production Hub from Rohde & Schwarz, received the prestigious Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award. On behalf of the Broadcast Engineering trade magazine a panel of independent judges, consisting of industry professionals, awarded innovative technologies during the show.
VENICE received the Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award in the Video Server category. The magazine’s renowned awards are the industry’s longest-running new product technology awards and acknowledge substantial technology improvement.
The VENICE Media Production Hub unites classic video server functionalities with intelligent, future-proof features for file-based studio production. Versatility and ease of integration into existing workflows are at the heart of the Media Production Hub’s design: It is available in multiple versions with different chassis heights, channel numbers and internal storage capacities.
At NAB DVS presented VENICE with an extended product portfolio: as a custom-tailored, budget-oriented entry-level solution VENICE Element is tailored specifically to meet the needs of live studio operation and playout. The Media Production Hub’s user interface has been optimised and the design made more ergonomic. Users will be impressed by its straightforward operating guidance, which supports them by giving immediate access to all key functions even in hectic live broadcast operations. By supporting and permanently enhancing up-to-date protocols and communication standards VENICE simplifies the exchange of material at TV stations and thus accelerates their production workflows. VENICE is one of the first systems to natively use the FIMS services Capture and Transform.
