In keeping with its mandate to help bridge the digital divide, the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) has once again organised the Digital Broadcasting Switchover Forum (DBSF) 2013, scheduled to be held from 11 to 13 February at the Holiday Inn Sandton in Johannesburg, South Africa.
This is the 8th Annual DBSF event and is designed to future-proof Africa’s migration to digital terrestrial television (DTT).
Topics under discussion include: Content for digital broadcasting – opportunities and potentials; Universal coverage of digital broadcasting services; Using technologies to deliver innovative digital broadcasting services in Africa; Delivering the promise of DTT to the African Market; Investing in Africa’s DTT and digital broadcasting industry; Broadening access to digital broadcast to rural communities; and Experiences and Reports on the Implementation of Digital Broadcasting Migration in Africa.
The annual DBSF Forum has been a robust discussion-based event over the past seven years with attendees participating from the likes of South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Mozambique, Cameroon, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Uganda, Angola, Tanzania, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mauritius, UK, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Zambia, Trinidad & Tobago , Jamaica, France, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Luxembourg, Bangladesh and many more.
Attendees include broadcasters, service providers, content providers, ICT regulators and ministries, operators, technology, infrastructure and solution providers, consultants etc.
