The hype surrounding Lincoln came to a temporary halt on 13 January when Ben Affleck and his movie, Argo, won the coveted awards for Best Director, Motion Picture and Best Motion Picture at the 70th Golden Globes respectively.
Despite Lincoln being nominated in seven categories, the movie won only one award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama for Daniel-Day Lewis while Les Miserables performed well in the category Comedy or Musical.
