Digital cinema technology leader Doremi has announced that its cutting-edge, digital entertainment offering, the IMS1000, has passed the Compliance Test Plan (CTP) and achieved the Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI) standard of excellence. This unique integrated media server is the first commercially available single-board Integrated Media Server (IMS) solution for DLP projectors on the market. Key features include a combined Screen Management System (SMS), digital storage and a secure DCI Image Media block in a compact form that fits inside DLP projectors.
The Doremi IMS1000 consumes approximately 65% less energy than the standard IMB and external storage, significantly lowering the cost of ownership.
It is controlled via Ethernet using a web-based version of Cinelister, Doremi’s theatre management system, or a third-party TMS supporting Doremi servers. DCP (Digital Cinema Package) ingest can be done through USB, eSATA, or Ethernet. The IMS1000 supports the highest JPEG2000 decoding capabilities, including 4K and 3D HFR and accepts alternative content including 4K HDMI inputs, dual 3G SDI and live stream.
“Passing the CTP with our IMS1000 is indicative of the hard work exerted by our team at Doremi. We knew the design of the IMS1000 would be required to meet the new DCI guidelines related to storage,’ states Michael Archer, VP of Digital Cinema, Doremi. “Systems using off-the-shelf storage or central storage just won’t meet DCI and studio expectations.’
