Apple officially extended its ITunes Store reach into one of Africa’s richest economies, South Africa on Tuesday, 4 December 2012.
IOL Sci-Tech reports that according to a statement by Apple, the online music store has over 20 million songs consisting of both international and local hits to purchase and download for R6.99 per song.
And just after a week of the South African store’s roll out, local distributors like Indigenous Film Distribution have jumped at the opportunity, making local films like Leon Schuster’s Schuks Tshabalala’s Survival Guide to South Africa and the romantic comedy box office hit, Semi-Soet, available to South Africans from between R99.99 to R149.99.
