JVC Professional Europe Ltd has announced the release of a firmware upgrade for the new to market GY-HM600, boosting the performance and features of this versatile, next-generation handheld ProHD camera.
This improved firmware version will be included on all new GY-HM600 camcorders in the UK and Europe. Any customers already in possession of a first release GY-HM600 can download the update from the JVC Support site.
The update includes a range of new professional features that build upon the impressive selection already included with the new 600 series camcorders and improves ease of use in all conditions.
It incorporates Pre-Defined shooting modes to give the user instant access to optimum settings for the most common applications. Standard Mode is for shooting under controlled lighting conditions and optimises iris range and gain for best results. Extended Mode is for news shooting under critical lighting situations with the emphasis on maximum gain and image capture under difficult conditions.
There are also various improvements of camera functionality and signal processing for even better performance and image quality. The update also includes the recent bug fix for 1080p25 scanning mode.
Existing customers can download the firmware from the JVC Support website accessible via the JVC Professional website (www.jvcpro.co.uk or via the QR code at the bottom of the page). The file should be downloaded onto any SD card and loaded into one of the GY-HM600’s two card slots where it will be automatically detected and uploaded by the camera. Full instructions are supplied with the file.
