Satellite services provider Intelsat SA has announced the addition of five industry-seasoned employees who will fulfill sales and customer support roles, further enhancing Intelsat’s unique ability to deliver and support critical communications infrastructure across Africa.
The following employees have joined the company’s Johannesburg office and will support Intelsat’s growing African customer base, now serviced by 23 satellites and the IntelsatOne terrestrial network, following an intensive campaign that featured five successful launches in 2012.
Abraham Awonuga has joined Intelsat as regional director of Customer Solutions Engineering, where he brings to the company experience in developing and managing customer VSAT networks focused on Africa’s oil and gas segments. He was previously employed by Harris CapRock Communications.
Nicholas Blamire joins Intelsat as senior sales director. With more than 10 years of experience in Africa, including wholesale data, telephony and mobile services, he has spent most of his career focused on serving southern and east African communications providers.
John Cloete will serve as senior principal customer solutions engineer at Intelsat, where he will be keenly focused on supporting Intelsat’s media and network services customers. Cloete comes to Intelsat from Sentech in South Africa.
Annemarie Meijer joins Intelsat as key account director of Africa Sales. With extensive media industry experience, Meijer was previously employed by Africa-based Globecast.
Ivan Reuter has joined Intelsat as senior sales engineer. Reuter brings to Intelsat expertise in supporting broadcast, cellular backhaul and network services customers. He formerly served as a systems engineer and project manager with Astrium and Metracom in France.
