The Ethekwini Filmmakers Association (EFA) in Durban will be hosting its first ever film awards ceremony on 24 November to recognisie local talent in different categories such as Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor etc.
An independent panel is currently viewing more than 20 films to select nominees and winners. One deserving filmmaker will win a bursary worth R60,000 from AFDA Film Academy.
This will be a three-year, non-transferable bursary for the AFDA Durban campus only:
Candidates must have a university exemption and be EFA members who have paid the R100 membership.
Candidates much have been involved in a film production and be willing to study towards a Bachelor Degree in Motion Picture Medium

- 1 page Motivation letter (Why you deserve this bursary)
- A Matric certificate
- A Show reel of your past work (You can bring your show reel when you are called for an interview)

EFA is still looking for more sponsors, funders, distributors, broadcasters for next year’s film market and the doors are open to all distributors and broadcasters to view this year’s film for licensing and distribution.
EFA is a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving and developing the local film Industry by uniting all Durban Filmmakers, developing an audience for local films and creating an economically viable film industry in the city.
