The Writers’ Guild of South Africa (WGSA) will hold an intermediary interactive story development class with Dermod Judge on Saturday, 10 November in Cape Town from 08h30 to 15h30.

During 10 years of teaching internationally, Dermod Judge has developed a technique that harnesses the creative power of a group in the development of story. Character, theme and circumstance are all addressed, Major Turning Points are examined, conflict is explored and a compelling synopsis that demonstrates the cinematic potential of a story is devised.
This is an interactive workshop so all participants will be required to contribute to the process in a creative manner.
Judge has initiated and been involved in several major training initiatives over the past seven or eight years, mainly as chairman of the Cape Chapter of SASWA (The South African Scriptwriters¹ Association) which he resuscitated in the mid 1990s.
He was also involved with the two-year Cape Short Film Project, which benefited some writers and many TV and film practitioners. Three films were produced on 35 mm and won seven Avanti awards.
