The Audience Award, the highest honour at the 37th annual Toronto International Film Festival which drew to a close over the weekend, went to David O Russell’s drama, Silver Linings Playbook.
Produced by The Weinstein Company, the film stars Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro and Chris Tucker.
Silver Linings Playbook revolves around a former teacher who moves back in with his parents after a stint in a mental institution. He tries to reconcile with his ex-wife but things get complicated when he meets a mysterious and troubled girl.
The film received a standing ovation at its premiere screening at Toronto and is considered to be a serious contender for the Oscars. (Source: IMDB)
