The Cape Film Commission (CFC) has announced the appointment of two new members to the CFC board.
The new members are Mr M Bagraim, current president of the Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry and managing partner of Bagraims, the labour lawyers; and Mr M A Gierdien, past president of the Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry, director of Cape Town International Convention Centre, consul of Tunisia, director of the College of Cape Town and chairman of the Senior Council of the Muslim Judicial Council.
According to CFC CEO Denis Lillie, “Both Mr Bagraim and Mr Gierdien bring to the CFC board specialist expertise in their fields. This expertise will assist us with the development and growth of the CFC and will further ensure that issues of accountability and transparency are addressed and implemented in line with good corporate governance.
“Their involvement with our organisation will further enhance the development of our local and national film industry through the work of the Cape Film Commission. We are very much looking forward to working with them.’
Lillie noted that the CFC now has a membership approaching 3,000.
