The South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAS) has announced the opening of the Best Soapie category voting line as of Wednesday 22 February 2012. The voting line will close on Saturday 9 March at 12h00.
As with previous years, viewers are encouraged to vote for their best soapie by sending an sms to 45763. The sms will be charged at standard rates cost. To vote viewers are requested to type the first letter of the soapie they’re voting for, and send it to 45763.
The SAFTAS are industry awards of which the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) of South Africa are the industry appointed custodians. The award’s main objective is to honour, celebrate and promote the creativity, quality and excellence of South African film and television talent, and encourage entrepreneurship and the development of new talent in the industry.
The 6th Annual SAFTAS will be held at Gallagher Estate in Midrand on the 9 and 10 March. The awards will be broadcast on SABC 3 on Sunday 11 March.
