A full field of 140 players turned up for the Screen Africa Industry Golf Day, which took place at CMR in Roodepoort on 16 February.

Unlike previous years the 2012 event saw a shotgun start which proved popular with the players. The format was a Better Ball Stableford (Scramble Drive).

A severe thunderstorm stopped play at around 4pm. However, players and companies were able to network and socialise at the cocktail function thereafter.

Screen Africa would like to thank the following generous sponsors: Panavision; SuperSport Outside Broadcast; SuperSport Media Solutions; Harambe Technology; Protea Electronics; Atlas Studios; Concilium Technologies, GlobeCast Africa and Mango.

Due to the rain there was no Screen Africa Floating Trophy for the best round. Prizes took the form of lucky draws. Raffle tickets for the 1st and 2nd Prizes were sold and the proceeds – an amount of R7,170 – were donated to Save Our Rhinos through The Endangered Wildlife Trust.

The 1st Prize consisted of two sets of Mango air tickets, which were won by Ben van der Westhuizen and Malcolm Cobbett.

The 2nd Prize consisted of two golf hampers to the value of R2,500. These were won by Jacques Daniell (Connecting Africa) and Russel Jones (B&I).

Diarise March 2013 for the next Screen Africa Industry Golf Day!
