Continuing its clean sweep of awards season, French silent film The Artist won Best Film, Best Director (Michel Hazanavicius), Best Actor (Jean Dujardin), Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Costume Design at the British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTAS) on 12 February in London.
Meryl Streep’s towering performance as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady secured her the Best Actress BAFTA.
