The Southern African Marketing Research Association (SAMRA) is calling for presentation submissions for the 2012 SAMRA Conference.
The conference will be held on 16 and 17 August 2012 to coincide with the SAMRA AGM on 15 August.
According to the organisers, the conference venue will be announced shortly: “In order to improve accessibility and attract more day delegates and to research users and suppliers, the venue will be centrally located. Through relevant content and presentations, we want to broaden the delegate base substantially. At the same time, we plan to significantly increase the number of exhibitors and sponsors and provide an improved platform for their exhibits/sponsorships,’ stresses SAMRA conference chair Kim Larsen.
Themed “Reflection and progress – from the present into the future’, the conference will, on the one hand, provide the opportunity to reflect on past learnings and new thinking in this context, and on the other hand focus on new challenges, practices and developments to suitably equip delegates and research practitioners for the future, she adds.
“We want to reignite the annual SAMRA conference through innovation and new thinking, positioning it anew as a crucial forum for practitioners and stakeholders where they can all have their say by sharing ideas, learnings, training practices and developments, including new methodologies, quality management and codes of best practice.
“Similarly, topical and relevant papers and presentations will provide ample support and motivation, and encourage individual growth and development. In short, through the SAMRA annual conference, we not only wish to raise the bar in marketing research but significantly complement the body of knowledge,’ she concludes.
The 2012 conference programme allows for three types of presentations: keynote/ guest addresses, research papers by established research practitioners and research papers by aspiring/new entrants to the market (the so-called “bright young minds’). Full details are available on the SAMRA website (www.samra.co.za)
The following SAMRA Conference Awards are available for the authors/presenters of research papers: SAMRA Best Overall Paper, SAMRA Best First-Time Speaker, Research International award for the Best Contribution to Research Standards for Africa and Telkom Best User Award.
