The IFFF takes place from 21 to 25 March 2012 and champions indie filmmakers and screenwriters while offering a superb meet-and-greet environment for networking in Hollywood, California.

The competitions are open to both professional and student filmmakers and screenwriters of all ages in the feature, shorts, student shorts and youth fest (ages 8-18) categories.

The 2012 film categories are drama, comedy, animation, documentary, musical and mixed-media, and the 2012 screenplay categories are drama, comedy, animation, sci-fi / fantasy and musical.

Awards are given to the winners in all categories, and an audience favourite award, the Top Applause Award, will also be handed out.

The festival will feature panel discussions on trending industry topics on Friday until Sunday, with Youth Educational Workshops on Saturday 24 March and the Screenwriters Showcase and Awards Ceremony on the afternoon of Sunday 25 March.

The IFFF – Youth Fest! films and screenplays will have a separate Awards Ceremony on Saturday after the screening of their short films.
