Disneynature Productions’ African Cats (featured in the August issue of Screen Africa) was the recipient of a Special Jury Award at the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival held in Wyoming, US, from 3 to 7 October.
African Cats was directed by Keith Scholey (born and raised in East Africa) and Alastair Fothergill.
Jackson Hole’s ‘Best of Festival’ Grand Teton Award was presented to Broken Tail, from Crossing the Line Films, IFB, RTÉ, CBC, SWR, ZDF, ARTE, MEDIA, “Nature’ for WNET New York Public Media and the BBC.
Broken Tail, which focuses on one of the world’s most famous tigers, also won the best conservation programme and the best hosted or presenter-led programme awards.
