The Bojanala Platinum District Municipality in Rustenburg will host the first annual Bojanala Film Week in October. In partnership with South Africa’s National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), the Bojanala Film Week will focus on training aspiring filmmakers in the different segments of filmmaking.
Out of school youth and unemployed members of the Bojanala Community interested in filmmaking will be invited to participate in the event. Filmmakers outside the boundaries of Bojanala will be invited to share their experiences with this group. More stakeholders in the film fraternity will also be called to outline their role in this industry.
Films to be screened during Film Week include Max and Mona, A Pair of Boots and a Bicycle, Flowers of the Revolution, White Wedding, State of Violence, Surfing Soweto, Abby’s Boys, Paradise Stop, More Than Just a Game, Tsotsi, Rifle Road, Jesus and The Giant and Super Hero.
It is envisaged that the event will run from 26 to 29 October.
