The depth of artistic talent in South Africa is demonstrated by the success achieved at Taiwan’s annual “World School Children’s Art Exhibition’, where local youngsters have often scooped top honours. It is for this reason that submissions are called from artists who have won awards, in South Africa, to submit these winning award art works to the Taitung County Government.
The theme for 2011 is “Dancing with Nature’ and participants are expected to have captured the Austronesian spirit that embodies “harmony with nature’. It is hoped that these award winning art works from South Africa will arouse audiences into reflecting on the deep relationship between human beings and nature.
The Submission Deadline for the Preliminary Selection is from 1-9 September 2011. Mixed media may be used but only one art piece per entrant may be submitted. The award winning art works will be displayed in Taitung Art Museum in December 2011.
The general rules and regulations, and the entry forms should be downloaded from the website of the Taitung Cultural Affairs department (http://www.ccl.ttct.edu.tw/FileDownload/FileDownloadPage.aspx?UID=5&ClsID=47&ClsTwoID=0&ClsThreeID=0&path=512).
