There are less than two weeks to go to the 32nd SAMRA conference on 1 to 3 June at the Riverside Lifestyle Resort and Spa on the banks of the Vaal River, the same venue as the first SAMRA conference in 1979. According to the organisers the conference will be thought-provoking and groundbreaking.
SAMRA will for the first time ever present two ESOMAR workshops on semiotics and ethnography by world-renowned researchers in the run-up to the conference. A new category, for “bright young minds’ in the industry of 25 years and younger, will also debut at the conference.
In line with international trends of accountability and compliance, the conference, themed Dare to Care: Put the heart in the art of research, is set to provide ample food for thought to the more than 150 delegates who will be attending this year’s event, thanks to the high calibre of keynote speakers and big selection of relevant research papers and presentations.
According to SAMRA chair Elsa Thirion-Venter, this year’s conference drew a large number of high quality synopses, some of which caused considerable controversy among the judges. “As a result it was decided that the topics should be presented at the conference so that delegates could judge for themselves.’
At the same time, the conference provides sponsorship opportunities, as well as exhibition space, and limited opportunities for both sponsors and exhibitors catering for the marketing research industry are still available.
“The annual SAMRA conference provides the ideal vehicle for service providers in the marketing research industry to benefit from direct exposure to their target audience. The exhibition space, which, over the years has proven to be a lucrative opportunity for exhibitors who want to showcase their products and services, will be situated close to the conference room in which the conference papers will be read. Likewise, many sponsors agree that they have also benefited handsomely from their support of the conference,’ stresses conference chair Kim Larsen.
